Panelist: Anthony Tantuccio, Bristol-Myers Squibb. He is a Principal Technical Investigator, Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Science & Technology.

BMS logoBio: Anthony earned his B.E. in Chemical Engineering from The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art, and has his Six Sigma Green Belt certification from the American Society of Quality. He is a Principal Technical Investigator for Bristol-Myers Squibb's (BMS) Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Science & Technology group. That group is responsible for representing Global Manufacturing and Supply Organization during the development process and technology transfer from R&D into commercial manufacturing. In addition, his group identifies new innovative technologies, which are then implemented at the commercial manufacturing site for continuous improvement for small molecule process.

As a summer Intern, Anthony originally joined BMS in 2009, working on Near Infrared models for predicting tablet density. Afterwards, he joined the Process Analytic Technology group in New Brunswick supporting method development and implementation for real time release strategies. Since October 2011, Anthony has been in the Manufacturing Technology group and has made many important contributions to the group and currently is the Development to Launch co-lead for BMS state of the art Continuous Direct Compression project. He is currently the Product Champion for a key product where he supports process robustness evaluations and the ongoing tech transfer activities which follows his significant work with the initial tech transfer bringing the product to the Humacao, PR facility. He has also supported many novel technology evaluations (including inline raman and turbidity monitoring for deaeration, Admix high shear mixing for viscous polymers, and advanced particulate filter cartridge design), and has managed interns every year while at BMS.
