Two Opportunities: (1) Pfizer Summer Student Worker Program and (2) NY State Dept. of Env. Conservation's NY Leaders Student Internships

(1) Pfizer's 2016 Summer Student Worker Program (SWP). This program is jointly managed by Pfizer and Atrium Payroll Services. The SWP provides short-term student work to support Pfizer's business needs during the summer months. The program seeks to add value to the business through staff augmentation to accomplish departmental goals while offering practical and valuable business experience to the student participant. Student Workers will be employed by Atrium Payroll Services

Qualifications:

In order to be eligible, you must:
• Be legally authorized to work in the U.S. and not require immigration sponsorship
• Be at least 18 years of age prior to the scheduled start date
• Be currently enrolled, and will have completed at least 2 yr of undergraduate studies by May 2016
• Have at least a 3.0 cumulative GPA as of the most recently completed semester
• Be enrolled in an undergraduate or graduate program for the period of time immediately following the summer program
• Be able to successfully pass a drug screen and background check within 30 days of the assignment target start date

Typically, assignments begin in late May and last through August, depending on business needs and your availability, at Pfizer locations throughout the U.S.

(2) The New York State Dept. of Environmental Conservation (DEC)
participates in the New New York Leaders Student Intern Program. This is a centralized Student Intern Program for New York State Government.

The term
intern is defined as a New York State college student or a New York State resident attending college out of state, who has completed one year of college, has a minimum GPA of 2.5 or is in a graduate program, who works in a temporary capacity with an emphasis on on-the-job training to gain experience in their field of study. Experience is frequently for either school credit or as a class/graduation requirement.

Most internships with the DEC are done on an unpaid basis. The internship may be for either academic credit or to gain experience.
