Senior Application Technologist (Palo Alto, CA area)

This position is located in the Palo Alto area with a pre-IPO nanotechnology-based startup that has attracted national recognition. They are offering a competitive salary and opportunity for advancement. Manufactures novel anode materials for Li-ion batteries that increase the anode specific capacity up to a factor of five.

The position is technical in nature with focus on applications engineering. The primary role will be to anticipate, identify and close on the technical issues in customer opportunities. You will be the technical face to the customer and will work with company’s engineering team and third parties to make recommendations, resolve design issues and close on production-ready, high performance solutions for the customer (Includes 30%+ travel to customer and third party sites).

Required: B.S. in Chemistry or related field, advanced degree is a plus 5+ years experience in areas of field and customer applications support 3+ years experience in battery technology Must have a thorough understanding of battery chemistry and cell/battery-level integration Demonstrable history of successful product introduction and application problem solving in battery systems Must have a sales-savvy attitude Fluency in Mandarin and Korean desired
