This environmental professional will be responsible for managing permits, reports and compliance with all federal and state regulations for two plants, one in New York and one in central Ohio. The position will work out of the New York plant with approximately 25% travel to the Ohio site. The leadership of this global organization is committed to not only compliance but also to reducing/eliminating waste and developing environmentally friendly sustainable programs, as well as, continuing to invest in the business. This role will have opportunities to support capital projects as well.

Responsibilities: Applying engineering competencies, compliance knowledge and expertise in areas of air/Title V, water and hazardous waste for 2 chemical product manufacturing plants. Modifying, improving and maintaining regulatory compliance for both locations directly and with the use of highly-skilled consultants to promote environmental policies, programs and activities by establishing standards, auditing and promoting improvements and when necessary, directing corrective actions. This role will; interface with the regulatory agencies, be the point of contact on all environmental audits, provide guidelines and assistance in training operators and interact with vendors to ensure compliance with regulatory guidelines.

Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering preferred, but will consider similar technical degrees, along with a minimum of (3) years of multi-media environmental compliance in a chemical production facility. Some experience with Title V permits, hazardous waste handling required. Additional experience with trial burns/ hazardous waste incinerator, managing contractors, recovery units/waste stream reductions, is preferred. Knowledge of NY State regulatory requirements is a plus! Must be willing to travel 25% (will include overnight stays).
